We are seeking an exceptional Family Education Mentor to become a long-term part of our family and help guide the growth and development of our five boys (ages 12, 10, 8, 6, and 4). We are looking for more than a tutor or nanny—a trusted mentor and positive role model who can work closely with parents to nurture strong character, academic excellence, independence, leadership, and a global perspective.

Qualifications:

  • Male or female, under 60 years of age

  • Native English speaker

  • U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (Green Card holder); Chinese language ability is a plus

  • Passionate about working with children, with kindness, patience, integrity, and strong responsibility

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in education, child development, school administration, youth mentoring, or related field

  • Previous family education experience highly preferred; married and/or with children preferred

  • Valid U.S. driver’s license with clean driving record

  • Clean criminal background check

  • Non-smoker, no alcohol abuse, healthy lifestyle

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and respect for family privacy

  • Seeking long-term position; 3-month probation followed by formal 3-year agreement

Responsibilities:

  • Provide daily educational guidance and mentorship for five boys

  • Pick up children from school each afternoon

  • Communicate regularly with teachers and school staff

  • Manage school emails, notices, calendars, and important communications

  • Help develop individualized study plans and learning goals

  • Foster love of reading, strong English skills, time management, independence, and positive habits

  • Encourage leadership, teamwork, responsibility, confidence, and emotional maturity

  • Accompany children to sports, outdoor activities, enrichment programs, and weekend activities

  • Organize social opportunities with classmates and friends

  • Travel with the family on short trips and educational outings as needed

  • Create a safe, positive, supportive, and inspiring environment

Schedule:

  • Generally begins early afternoon

  • School pickup between ~1:00 PM and 4:00 PM

  • Work until ~8:00 PM (avg 8-hour day)

  • Weekends, summer vacation, and school holidays are important working periods

  • Christmas vacation provided; additional time off coordinated with family schedule

  • Family vehicle provided for work-related transportation
